The future is bright. The future is yellow. Villarreal CF have reached an agreement for the renewal of the contracts of young talents Álex Baena (2025), Filip Jorgensen (2025), Yeremy Pino (2024) and Fer Niño (2024).
The Yellows, loyal to their philosophy of young talent and backing the academy, underline their commitment to the club’s youth prospects, who are set to be the future of Villarreal CF.
Álex Baena: 2025
Álex Baena (Roquetas de Mar, 20/07/01) has signed a contract extensión with Villarreal CF until June 2025. The midfielder made his debut with the first-team last season in a Copa del Rey tie against Comillas CF. Aged 19, he has played five official games and scored one goal with the first team.
The young midfielder joined the Yellows Academy in 2012 to join up with the U12s (Alevín A). In the 2018/19 season, he led the U19s (Juvenil A) to the first ever U19s Copa del Rey in the club’s history, which they won alongside the league. A Spain U19 international, he has great technique and reads the game well.
Filip Jorgensen: 2025
Filip Jorgensen (Lomma, Sweden, 16/04/2002) extends his ties with Villarreal CF until June 2025. The Swedish goalkeeper is a promising young goalkeeper with a big statue and exceptional reflexes between the sticks. Aged 18, he is regularly part of the first-team dynamic, while regularly being a starter for Villarreal B.
In 2017, aged just 15, he arrived at the Yellows Academy. In the 2018/19 season, he was part of the U19 (Juvenil A) squad that lifted a historic double, winning the U19 Copa del Rey and the league. He is a Sweden youth international.
Fer Niño: 2024
Fer Niño (Rota, Cádiz, 24/10/2000) extends his contract with Villarreal CF until June 2024. The striker made his first-team debut last season in a Copa del Rey game against Girona FC. On his first league appearance, he scored a winning goal for Villarreal against Deportivo Alavés. Aged just 20, he has played nine games, scoring three goals for the men’s first team.
Aged 16, he arrived at the Yellows Academy to play for the U17s (Juvenil B). Like Baena and Jorgensen, he was part of the historic double-winning U19 (Juvenil A) team in 2018/19. He’s a goalscoring striker and has been the main point of attack for the youth teams he’s featured for.
Yeremy Pino: 2024
Yeremy Pino (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, 20/10/2002) extends his contract with Villarreal CF until June 2024. The Canarian striker made his first-team debut this season in a UEFA Europa League game against Sivasspor. Since then, he’s played five games and scored one goal for Unai Emery’s side.
Aged 14, he arrived at the Yellows Academy to play in the U16s (Cadete A). Yeremy is a talented player, capable of creating space and arriving in the right areas at the right time. He is a Spain U18 international.
