Groc Talent is a music contest organised by Villarreal CF in partnership with the SanSan Festival. Through this cultural initiative, the Yellow Submarine promotes and gives visibility to emerging musical talent from the province of Castellón and, in some cases, from across the rest of the Valencian Community.
As part of the Endavant Cultura programme, more than a dozen bands and/or artists from Castellón perform each year in the Fan Zone at the Estadio de la Cerámica in the build-up to LaLiga matches. Villarreal fans enjoy their live music and rate their performances, with their votes deciding the three groups that make it through to the grand final of each edition.
In a much-anticipated finale, the three bands perform again, and a music jury made up of representatives from Villarreal CF and the SanSan Festival selects the winner. The grand prize is a place on the lineup of the prestigious SanSan independent music festival in Benicàssim.
So far, Villarreal CF has hosted five editions of Groc Talent. The winners – Red Smoke, Valiente Bosque, La Aldea, Pasqual Riera and La Pelona – have all fulfilled their dream of performing on stage at the prestigious SanSan Festival.
