VILLARREAL CF’S TALENT ACADEMY
The Yellows Academy is the cornerstone of the Villarreal CF project. The Yellow Submarine dedicates a large part of its resources to the comprehensive education and development of its young talents, placing its trust in them and believing they will become the club’s future leading figures.
Villarreal CF has a total of 36 academy teams and around 650 players in its youth football system. It is one of the few clubs in Spain with two high-performance training centres: the José Manuel Llaneza Training Ground and the Pamesa Cerámica Training Ground. It also has a modern academy residence, where around one hundred young players live after choosing the Submarine to help them fulfil their dream of becoming professional footballers.
To achieve this, Villarreal relies on a large staff team made up of more than 160 coaches, as well as medical, academic and residential personnel, all exclusively dedicated to the youth football structure in order to support players’ development and meet their needs.
In recent years, the club’s work and dedication have borne fruit, with academy graduates reaching the elite such as Yeremy Pino, Álex Baena, Pau Torres, Samuel Chukwueze, Nicolas Jackson, Filip Jørgensen and Ballon d’Or winner Rodri Hernández, as well as other legends including Bruno Soriano, Santi Cazorla and Manu Trigueros.
