The Estadio de la Cerámica remodeling project, which was presented on May 11 at El Ceramista Restaurant, is led by IDOM, a prestigious international engineering and architecture company, which has already participated in important projects such as the construction of the New Athletic Club’s San Mamés, the remodeling of the River Plate Monumental Stadium, as well as the design and construction of the new roof of the Ciutat de València Stadium. For its part, the management of the works is in charge of the local construction company, Alviben.
An impressive reform in record time
With no time to lose, the works began on Monday, May 16. One day after last LaLiga’s penultimate matchday, which was the Submarino’s last match at the Estadio de la Cerámica, the grass was raised and a long renovation was inaugurated that would have its official inauguration on the last date of 2022 and that It will continue its course until its complete completion during the first quarter of 2023.
A 50 million euro refurbishment project

To date, with the renovation, the complete covering of the façade of the Estadio de la Cerámica has been completed, the field has been completely closed off with the construction of the new stands on the corner, between the Preferencia and Fondo Sur stands, and the has installed a new roof, which covers the entire capacity of the stadium and allows it to house all the television infrastructures and improves the quality and experience of the fans.
In addition, it has renovated all the seats on the field, it has installed two giant 21×7 meter video scoreboards (300 m2 of screen) and a spectacular public address system, new LED sports and architectural lighting.
During 2023, the reform will continue its course, with the construction of new interior spaces: a multipurpose room at the top of the South End with views of the pitch and the square, the comprehensive remodeling of the Entrelíneas Restaurant and a new space for the Villarreal museum. Likewise, the club will reaffirm its commitment and commitment to renewable energy, with the installation of photovoltaic panels on the roof for self-consumption of the stadium, with the purpose of generating a positive environmental impact.
