Villarreal B make their home debut this Saturday at 4:15pm against Real Zaragoza
Miguel Álvarez has appeared at a press conference ahead of Villarreal B’s debut at the Estadio de la Cerámica for the match against Real Zaragoza this Saturday at 4.15pm, corresponding to the Gameweek 23 of the 2022/23 LaLiga SmartBank season. Here is what the Mini Submarine head coach had to say:
Debut at the Estadio de la Cerámica
“The day just doesn’t come. Normally, the days and weeks fly by, but this time the day just won’t come. We’re all very excited to play at La Cerámica and because we’re taking another step forward. It brings the boys closer to a stage like the first team where they can play one day if they work hard.”
The opposition
“We face the game trying to compete at a high level because that’s what Zaragoza are going to demand of us. Since Fran Escribá has come in, the numbers are there, they’re conceding fewer goals… They’re a team whose results are going better. In this important step that the boys are taking after leaving the Mini, which was a fortress, we want to start another new project, another new adventure, another new dream and turn this stadium into the stadium of the boys’ dreams to excite people and offer good football.”
Continuing to grow
“Neither a positive nor a negative result makes me more demanding when it comes to the road ahead. With the boys there is a process and we are moving towards their growth with and without the ball. In the last three games we have had less reward but we are doing a lot of things well and the team is getting better every day.”
The fans won’t disappoint
“The club is taking important steps with the B team and we are all excited about the move to La Cerámica so that a lot of people come because it is clear that we need it. It’s vital for the boys. The fans are very important to give us the energy we need at certain times because when we go away we play against teams with a lot of fans. Football without them is less football. We know that our fans won’t let us down because the stage is more appetising. Those who come and like football have a good time.”
Álex Millán
“He has been two years away from us. He is a much better player. He came here because he wanted to because he had other offers. He knows that this is a place where we look after players and we are there for them. He has to come here calmly and meet again with a lot of teammates. He’s gone abroad and has seen what we have here and that’s very important.”
