Yousef Al-Mulla, a loyal Yellows fan in Qatar

The passionate fan has followed Villarreal since he was a child

Yousef Al-Mulla is originally from Qatar, where he lives and works as a producer for beIN SPORTS. The Yellows fan has been following Villarreal since 2006, when he was just 12 years old. His passion for the club was born in a match between Villarreal and Real Madrid (3-3). The Submarine’s great performance and the quality of some of their players such as Juan Román Riquelme and Diego Forlán made Villarreal his “only love in life” for little Yousef.

He has only been able to enjoy his beloved team live once, and that was against Real Sociedad. On that day, many will remember it for the goal scored by Sansone from midfield. A goal that Yousef will never forget. On the other hand, despite the distance, he never misses a game. Nerves get the better of him every time Villarreal play, so he says he likes to watch the games alone and quietly to concentrate only on what is happening on the pitch.

Many memories of the Submarine occupy the Qatari fan’s mind. For him, one of the happiest moments was Jonathan Pereira’s goal against Almeria that secured promotion back to the top flight. Obviously, the final in Gdansk also has a very special place in his heart, because it was the first title in the club’s history and because of the way it was won.

This fan not only follows Villarreal, but also helps to raise awareness of the club among the Arab community. He is a key part of WhatsApp group to chat about the club in Arabic. There are more than 30 participants and more and more people around him are becoming interested in the Yellow Submarine. A true ‘groguet’.

Throught the Yellows Around the World series, Villarreal CF publishes regular reports telling the stories of some of the the Submarine’s leading international fans.
