The city of Brampton will host Villarreal’s fifth academy in Canada

Villarreal CF has a new academy in Canada. Through its Villarreal Academy international expansion project, the club today announces the opening of Villarreal Ontario Academy, based in the city of Brampton, after reaching an agreement to work with Elite Soccer Academy.

Villarreal Ontario is the Yellow Submarine’s fifth academy in Canada, joining academies in Montreal (Quebec), Edmonton (Alberta), Vancouver (British Columbia) and Brandon (Manitoba). As a result of this agreement, the yellow club will provide professional support to the coaches and players of this football school, helping them to reach their maximum sporting potential.

Similarly, Villarreal Ontario will offer young talent from Brampton and the surrounding area the opportunity and pathway to develop their talent and potential under the club’s successful methodology. It will also provide them with the opportunity to visit Spain and train at Villarreal CF’s sports facilities or take part in friendly matches with the various Yellow academies in other corners of the globe.

Villarreal Ontario Academy director, John De Sousa, is convinced of the opportunities that this sports centre will offer to young football players from the Ontario region: “Our methodology is based on the European football approach. Working with a recognised club like Villarreal will not only associate us with a globally recognised brand in the sport, but will allow us to develop the talent in our region and forge a recognisable curriculum for our athletes. This agreement allows us to be ambitious and to take our academy to a much bigger dimension.”

In addition to the newly founded Villarreal Ontario, the club has a large number of academies around the world thanks to Villarreal Academy, its international expansion project. The Yellow Submarine is currently represented by academies in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Bolivia, Australia, Kuwait, India, Israel, South Korea and Malaysia, among others.
