The Villarreal Women head coach has assured that the team is mentally prepared after the first victory to try to build on the good dynamic (Saturday, 12pm CEST)
Villarreal Women’s head coach Sara Monforte spoke to the media to discuss the team’s upcoming game against SD Eibar, which will be played on Saturday at 12pm CEST in the Basque Country.
Reward in the form of 3 points
“It’s much easier to work from the win. We deserved to get three points and everything is much easier to work on. They had two days off and since Tuesday we’ve been working very well, focusing on the game against SD Eibar.”
Playing at Ipurúa
“It’s a special stadium for me, because it’s a top level stadium. We’ve already forgotten about the game the other day because this one is very complicated. It will be two hours of very good football at Ipurúa against a rival who have just been promoted, but who have very clear ideas and are going to make things very difficult for us.”
The opposition: SD Eibar
“They’re a very tough team, different to what we’ve come up against so far against teams who are more dominant on the ball. They put in a lot of crosses and second balls, but our players are capable of anything and they know what to expect.”
The keys
“The key is to be very solid and not concede too much to the opposition, because they generate very little. Last week I wasn’t happy with that despite the result. In the rest of the games, we defended better. We don’t have to give second chances and we have to take advantage of our own.”
