Tere Morató returned to action after 290 days on the sidelines

On 26th March 2022, when Villarreal Women were playing Athletic Club, Tere Morató was running down the left flank of the Mini Estadi when, after a nasty misstep, she suffered the dreaded injury of rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament in her left knee.

“We were fighting for our objectives and I was feeling very good. The injury was a hard blow, because it takes you off the pitch for a long time,” recalls the Andorran attacker.

After nine months of recovery, a total of 290 days, working with the medical staff, and always with the support of her team-mates, Tere was able to return to the field of play.

So, on 10th January, in the match against Sevilla FC in the Copa de la Reina, Tere Morató put on the yellow shirt once again. “Putting on the shirt made me feel like a superhero who was putting on a cape. What’s more, playing at home again, in front of the fans and with my team-mates, was the best possible scenario,” she said.

The objective now is to “gain confidence” to be able to help the team as much as possible for the rest of the season.

Welcome back, Tere!
