The Villarreal Manager, Fran Escribá, said at midday today that the dressing room is united and alert ahead of this Saturday’s match against Granada CF at the Estadio de la Cerámica (1pm CET). "The team is good, already thinking about winning and getting those good feelings back after the defeat to Valencia. We’re alert and excited for the match to come to try and put smiles on our fans faces", the Manager commented.
For the boss, the match will not be easy at all: "When a team is in Granada’s situation it feels like every match is a last opportunity and every match is key. I see a Granada that are close to winning, they’re competing for it and they’ve also strengthened their side well. We expect a tough match, in which we’ll have to work hard from the first minute. We know it won’t be easy".
According to Escribá, intensity will be key: "We must go for the match from the first minute, be aggressive, create goal scoring opportunities and defend strongly. If we don’t give everything we’ve got in this game, it could go very badly. We’ve picked up points against teams that are above us, and we’ve dropped points against those below us. This serves us so we know just how difficult this league is, wherever any team is in the table, they can beat you".
With regard to new signing Adrián López, Fran Escribá says he is doubtful about putting him in the starting eleven against Granada: "Adrián has come to us in good shape, but not 90 minute match ready. So I’m doubtful about starting him, but know I can count on him for the end of the match. He knew the club well and this has made things easy for him".
