Raúl Albiol Tortajada (Vilamarxant, 04/09/1985) is an experienced, authoritative central defender with excellent positional skills. Thanks to his leadership, he has become one of Villarreal’s captains, making history as he led the side to their first every UEFA Europa League trophy. The Valencian footballer has played for the Spanish national side more than 50 times, winning the World Cup (2010) and two European Championships (2008 and 2012). He began his footballing career with Ribarroja, before signing for the Valencia CF academy. He soon made his debut for Los Che, before being loaned out to Getafe for the 2004/2005 season. After returning to Valencia, he shone in the heart of defence, before signing for Real Madrid in 2009/10.
