Pape Alassane Gueye (Montreuil, France, 24th January 1999) is a French-born Senegalese international who plays as a defensive midfielder. His technique, great recovery capacity, aggressiveness in duels and physical prowess make the Senegal international a very complete player.
He took his first steps in professional football with Le Havre AC, where he played from the 2016/17 to the 2019/20 season. He then signed for Olympique de Marseille, the last club he played for before joining Villarreal on a free transfer.
Prior to his arrival at the Yellow Submarine, Gueye accumulated experience in Spanish football. During the 2022/23 season, the versatile central midfielder played the second half of the season at Sevilla FC. In an impressive spell at the club, he made a total of 16 appearances and scored one goal.
