Yerson Mosquera (Apartadó, Colombia, 2nd May 2001) is one of the most promising young players in Colombian football. In addition to his aggressiveness, his great presence and physical power are some of the characteristics that define the 1.88m centre-back, who has already been called up by the national senior team.
Mosquera began his professional career at Atlético Nacional in Colombia, where he impressed so much during the 2020/21 season that just one year later, he joined Wolverhampton Wanderers.
In England, after not playing much of a role during the 2021/22 season, he was loaned to MLS team FC Cincinnati, where he was one of the most important players in the squad that finished first in the MLS Eastern Conference, before losing in the semi-finals of the playoffs to eventual winners, Columbus Crew.
After the MLS season finished in December, Mosquera returned to Wolves before joining Villarreal, where he will stay on loan for the rest of the season.
