The Castellón-born player extends her contract at the club for two more seasons
Villarreal CF and Irene Miguélez Martínez (05/07/2004, Castellón) have reached an agreement to renew the player’s contract for two more seasons.
From the youth academy to the first team
The Castellón-born player joined the Yellows Academy in the 2017/18 season, before going on to reach the first team in the 2020/21 season. She was then part of the team that achieved the historic promotion to the first division.
The young defender has already accumulated a great deal of experience in the top flight of Spanish women’s football, with 40 appearances to date. Following a season on the sidelines due to a long-term injury, Miguélez’s arrival provides a great boost for Villarreal Women ahead of the upcoming season in Primera RFEF.
