The young English goalkeeper started her footballing journey at the Villarreal youth academy
Villarreal CF have welcomed back Hannah Hampton to the club, as she enjoyed a visit to the ‘Inmersión Villarreal’ experience. She also met two current Villarreal Women players, Lucía Gómez and Irene Miguélez, who were formerly part of the club’s youth team set up.
Born in Birmingham, Hannah Hampton moved to Spain at a young age, starting her footballing journey at the age of five in the Villarreal academy. Hannah played for the Yellows for five seasons, shining for the team up front until 2010. She then returned to England, joining the Stoke City academy and taking up her new position as goalkeeper.
The English shot-stopper was part of the England team that won the European Championship in 2022, before her Chelsea side lifted the Women’s Super League title in 2023/24. She has also played in the Champions League with her club.
