The ‘Orgull de la nostra Vila’ show, promoted by Villarreal CF, enthralled more than a thousand people
A brilliant tribute to Francesc Tàrrega. More than a thousand people enjoyed ‘Orgull de la nostra Vila’ at the Sports Technification Centre in Vila-real. A unique show in honour of one of the most important ambassadors of the city.
This beautiful cultural performance, promoted by Villarreal CF in collaboration with Vila-real Town Council, is part of the varied programme of events held to commemorate the club’s centenary, always involved with its environment, the town of Vila-real, and showing its appreciation of its history, culture and tradition.
Artistically directed by Rosanna and Gisela Morales, this exciting event in homage to the famous guitarist, surprised with the magnificent performance of Paula Bonet. The renowned visual artist from Vila-real, a specialist in oil painting, engraving and writing, was a prophet in her own land, captivating the audience with a performance to remember.
The concert was directed by the Valencian musician, teacher and conductor-concertmaster Miguel Ángel Navarro, and featured a total of 60 musicians on stage. Among them, the magnificent Vasko Vassilev, recognised as one of the best violinists on the planet, who delighted those present with his talent, and Anabel Montesinos, one of the great names of the Spanish guitar.
The lyrics of the pieces played by the orchestra, together with the London-based musical group The Convent Garden Soloists and the musicians of the Associació Cultural ‘Veus de Cambra’ de Vila-real, were composed by ten local poets: Jacinto Heredia, Manel Pitarch, Antoni Pitarch, Marcelo Díaz, Vicent Gimeno, Clara Gil, Ana Asensio, Susanna Lliberós, Enric Dobón, Enric Portalés and Rosanna Morales.
The president of Villarreal CF, Fernando Roig, led an event that was also attended by various local authorities, headed by the municipal mayor, José Benlloch.
