The Yellow Submarine face the Madrid side on Valentine’s Day (Saturday, 4.15pm)
Villarreal CF travel to face Getafe CF this Saturday, 14 February, in what is always a demanding fixture at the Estadio Coliseum (4.15pm). After taking all three points against Espanyol, the Yellow Submarine will look to secure another league win to continue building a positive run of results.
Marcelino García Toral’s side go into this match in high spirits after Monday’s 4-1 win over Espanyol at the Estadio de la Cerámica, following two defeats and a draw. The victory provided a significant morale boost for the groguets, who remain ahead of their direct rivals in the race for fourth place.
For their part, José Bordalás’ Getafe side also arrive with confidence thanks to their recent away win over Deportivo Alavés (0-2). After a run of two defeats and two draws, the azulón outfit have climbed several places in the table and moved away from the relegation zone.
Great memories at the Coliseum
The head‑to‑head record between Villarreal and Getafe shows a favourable balance for the Yellow Submarine, who have not lost any of their last seven matches at the Coliseum: four wins and three draws since the 2018/19 season.
In the 2024/25 campaign, Villarreal defeated Getafe away from home (1-2) thanks to a superb performance from Tenerife-born forward Ayoze Pérez, who contributed both a goal and an assist.
In the reverse‑fixture match, played at the Estadio de la Cerámica, Villarreal defeated Getafe (2-0) thanks to goals from Georges Mikautadze and Tajon Buchanan.
