The Villarreal Women’s head coach has analysed the upcoming match against CD Tenerife B (Saturday, 12pm CET)
Villarreal Women’s head coach, Jordi Ferriols, spoke to the media to discuss the team’s current situation ahead of their match against CD Tenerife B, which will take place this Saturday at 12pm CET at the Tenerife Javier Pérez Training Ground.
Back to competition
“We’re feeling very good. We’ve just had a week off—days that always help you reconnect with your family and disconnect from football. Now we have two finals ahead of us: two away games against Tenerife and Albacete, and we’re ready to win both.”
Analysis of the opponent
“A very tough opponent. They’re unbeaten at home. It’s a very small pitch and they know the dimensions perfectly. They play very direct football and are strong in transition. Technically, they have very good players. We need to be ready for second balls and avoid letting them run in transition. And, above all, we must be clinical when we create chances.”
The keys to the game
“We need to stay true to ourselves when we have the ball. Take a step forward and be that aggressive, demanding team again—the one that never made things easy without the ball. We also have to be very careful with their transitions. They have very fast, very direct players, very explosive and always battling.”
