Sara Monforte’s side finished their participation in the Copa Sentimiento with a loss and a draw
Villarreal Women, now in the final stretch of the pre-season, took on CA Osasuna and Real Sociedad in the second edition of the Copa Sentimiento, held at CD Tajonar (Pamplona). The Yellows lost to the team from Navarre (2-0), while they managed a hard-fought draw against Real Sociedad (0-0).
In the first match, against CA Osasuna, Sara Monforte opted for a fairly young line-up, in which up to seven players were part of the B team. In this way, she gave the youth players a run-out for a possible future debut in Liga F. It is worth remembering that last season, nine youth players got to play some minutes for the first time in the top competition.
The yellow team had a very clear chance, in the 45 minutes of the game, from Vera Rico. However, the ball went straight into the hands of the rival goalkeeper. For her part, Carmen Carbonell made a couple of good save, but she couldn’t do anything about Alexia Jr’s two shots (2-0).

In the second match, Monforte gave minutes to those players who did not have them in the first test of the tournament. In these 45 minutes, Villarreal Women and Real Sociedad played a duel with a lot of disputes, strategy and forcefulness. Attempts to create danger for Real Sociedad came through the boots of Fatou Kanteh and Tere Morató. On the other side of the pitch, Elena de Toro saved several shots from the Basques to keep the score level throughout the match (0-0).
