Bailly believes the team is capable of playing a great second leg tomorrow against Marseille

Villarreal CF defender Eric Bailly appeared before the media and alongside head coach Marcelino García in the press room at José Manuel Llaneza Training Ground to talk about tomorrow’s second leg of the UEFA Europa League round of 16 clash between the Submarine and Olympique Marseille at the Estadio de la Cerámica at 6:45pm CET.

The Yellows centre-back’s comments were as follows:

Trying to turn around the tie

“We know how difficult it is to turn the tie around, but we have the obligation to show what we are showing in LALIGA. It will be a complicated match, but we must first of all show our best side and approach the game. We’ll see how the game develops.”

Marseille, a difficult opponent

“The result of the first leg was a surprise for us. Marseille are a great team and I, for example, have played with many of their players and I know what they are capable of, but it’s true that we conceded goals in the first half that we could have avoided. However, we must forget about that game and focus on tomorrow’s match. It’s difficult, but not impossible, otherwise we wouldn’t have wasted time preparing for the game.”

Important to perform well

“In the first leg we didn’t have the opportunity to show a good image and the good football this team is capable of playing. We have another chance tomorrow, in front of our own fans, and that’s what we have to do”.
