Sara Monforte underlined the importance of the match against a dominant team like Real Sociedad (Sunday, 12pm CEST)

Villarreal Women head coach, Sara Monforte, appeared before the media to analyse the current situation of the team, who face Real Sociedad this Sunday at the Mini Estadi at 12pm CEST.

The coach from Castellón is optimistic, despite her team’s recent results: “We haven’t been able to pick up points in the last few games, but the team is in a good moment and doing things well. We must continue in the same line of work. We face the game with the same players available and we will try to play a great game against Real Sociedad.”

As for the opposition, Monforte highlighted the quality of Real Sociedad and the strengths of their collective play: “They are a talented team and the players know each other well. They may not be where they want to be this year, but they will be looking for another win and will want to finish the season well. They won’t make it easy for us. They are dominant and it’s difficult to take the ball away from them.”

The head coach also appealed to the fans to come out and support Villarreal Women: “There are only two games left at home and we need our fans. We need them more than ever to help us get the win. A win would be key and would bring us closer to our goal of staying up.”

Finally, Sara Monforte pointed out that the Submarine must be aggressive and show that they want to win: “We are aggressive and we know what we are doing. The need to get points conditions us. We have to show that we want more than them and go for the three points.”
