Quique Setién is disappointed with the draw and points out that Villarreal were in control and deserved more at Mestalla
Villarreal head coach Quique Setién appeared before the media to analyse the 1-1 draw against Valencia at Mestalla. He praised the team’s performance at Valencia: “We controlled the game. We started well with several chances and we didn’t concede too much. They were playing at home, they came out to defend and make sure we didn’t score.”
Setién also acknowledged that Villarreal had done what they deserved to take the three points: “It’s what we wanted and what we had come here for. Against us, we had a Valencia side who gave their all and who have a great team. I’m not happy with the result, I think we did enough to win the game”.
