Villarreal will try to get three points against Getafe (Monday, 9pm CET)
Villarreal CF face Getafe CF at the Estadio de la Cerámica this Monday at 9pm CE. After losing their last four LaLiga games, the Submarine, ninth in the table with 31 points, will try to change the dynamic with their fans to keep fighting for the European places, which Rayo Vallecano now occupy with 34 points.
For their part, Getafe CF visit Vila-real in high spirits after their 1-0 win over Valencia in the fight for survival. However, going into this weekend’s fixtures, the team coached by Quique Sánchez Flores is still close in the relegation zone (16th with 22 points) and will be looking for a win at the Yellows to move further away from the drop zone.
In the first meeting between the sides this season at the Alfonso Pérez, neither team was able to win the game and the match ended in a goalless draw. However, the statistics are in Villarreal CF’s favour if we look at the history of encounters between the two sides. Of the 33 matches between them in the top flight, the Submarine have won 19 games, lost eight and drawn six.
The records are even more impressive at home for the Yellows. At the Estadio de la Cerámica, the Submarine have won 12, drawn once and lost three times.
The Estadio de la Cerámica will host a duel between two teams with very different realities, but with very clear objectives: Villarreal, to win in order to stay alive in the fight for Europe; Getafe, to win in order to look away from the relegation zone.
