The B team put in a great performance and beat their opposition comfortably at the Mini Estadi
Villarreal B beat Linares Deportivo 5-0 in a perfect match for the Yellows. Miguel Álvarez’s side once more put in a memorable performance at the Mini Estadi. The Mini Submarine looked impressive, scoring give goals against one of the toughest sides to fase in the Primera RFEF. The Yellows’ goals came from Juan Carlos Arana (2), Nicolas Jackson, Sergio Lozano and Iker Goujón.
In the opening stages, there was a high tempo. Both the home and away side looked dangerous with the ball and tried to play quickly. After the promising start, Villarreal B struck first with an Arana goal from a corner. The Canary Islander headed in at the far post after a ball put across the box by Adrián de la Fuente.
Just before half-time, the Mini Submarine got another. In a quick transition, Diego Collado found Arana in space, who after finding himself in the box, played it for Jackson to beat Razak and put some distance between the two teams.
Despite the two-goal lead, Villarreal B continued looking to increase their advantage, and ten minutes into the second half they scored their third. After a great piece of individual play, Arana beat the opposition goalkeeper with a cheeky chip. In the closing stages of the match, Lozano and Goujón put the icing on the cake in the goal fest.
With the win, the Mini Submarine continue to fight to top the table, a battle which they’re in alongside Albacete Balompié and FC Andorra. Next Saturday, Villarreal B will face UE Cornellá at 5pm CEST.
