The Yellows reserves had chances to get the win over Atlético Levante
Villarreal B were close to getting three points in their visit to Atlético Levante, one of the most in-form teams in Segunda División B Group 3 (1-1). In fact, the home side went ahead in the 54th minute through Ferni, but Villarreal B responded, drawing level through Sergio Lozano and putting Cárdenas’ goal under siege late on.
After an even first half, the goals came in the second. First of all, Atlético Levante went ahead through a powerful Ferni shot. From there on, the Yellows went looking for the equaliser. It came through Lozano, who beat Cadenas after a ball from deep.
The Mini Submarine threw everything at it as they tried to get the winner. The best chance late on fell to Diego Collado, who dribbled past Cárdenas, but his shot was cleared on the line by Sandoval.
Next up for Villarreal B is a game against Hércules at the Mini Estadi.
