The Villarreal and Espanyol captains will take to the pitch accompanied by Siri and Pinpin, homeless dogs from the AUPA shelter
Villarreal CF and RCD Espanyol have joined forces to promote the adoption of abandoned dogs. In the run-up to the upcoming match between the two teams, the captains of both teams will take to the pitch at the Estadio de la Cerámica accompanied by Siri and Pinpin, who are currently at the AUPA (Adopta Un Perro Abandonado – Adopt an Abandoned Dog) shelter in Valencia. An original and innovative initiative that aims to raise awareness of this cruel problem and encourage their adoption.
Committed to the adoption of homeless dogs
Thanks to the club’s close collaboration with AUPA, within the framework of the Endavant programme, Villarreal CF promotes and raises awareness of the adoption of abandoned dogs through different activities.
This season, the Submarine have gone one step further and have created the ‘Canine Art’ initiative, in which 19 dogs without families are featured in each of the league matches that the Yellows play at the Estadio de la Cerámica. Artists for a day, the dogs, with the help of coloured paint, have created with their paws the institutional details that the club gives to the rival team before the match.
On the same day, on the video scoreboard and in the official Villarreal CF media, the dog of the match will be featured, which on this occasion is Swatch, telling their story and sharing their qualities, with the aim of helping them to find a new home where they can feel loved and accompanied.
