Foyth and Rulli have underlined their happiness happy after fulfilling their World Cup dream and giving joy to the Argentinian people

World Cup winners Juan Foyth and Gero Rulli have appeared before the press two days after their arrival in Vila-real. Both players, who have already completed two training sessions with the squad, spoke of the pride and satisfaction of being World Cup winners with Argentina and were excited about the targets they hope to achieve with the Submarine in all three competitions.

These are the key comments made by both players:

The World Cup, a dream come true

Foyth: “We got here two days ago and, like all the Argentinian people, we are still very happy. Winning the World Cup is something you dream of when you’re little.”

Rulli: “We are very happy for what we have achieved and for giving joy to our country. What we experienced in Qatar and seeing how our people accompanied us is a beautiful memory for the rest of our lives.”

A moment from the World Cup in Qatar

Foyth: “Every moment is unforgettable. We started the championship with a defeat and it is admirable how we overcame the setbacks. I also remember the moment when we were welcomed by our people in Argentina. It was one of the happiest moments of my life.”

Rulli: “They were incredible days in which in each of them we took something beautiful away with us. Personally, the moment in the final when you take the penalty and become champion is unforgettable. Also the welcome from our fans, who were there for us at all times.”

Summing up 2022

Foyth: “An unforgettable moment of this year was the Champions League semi-finals against Liverpool. Even the players themselves had goosebumps. It was one of the games I enjoyed the most. Winning on Saturday would be a great way to end the year.”

Rulli: “I agree with Juan. The Champions League semi-finals were spectacular. They are moments we won’t forget and we want to repeat them”.

Returning to the Estadio de la Cerámica against Valencia

Foyth: “The return to the stadium will be historic for the club. We are sure that the fans will do their job on the pitch and we will give everything on the pitch to get the victory.”

Rulli: “If they were with us at the Levante stadium, I don’t want to imagine what the Estadio de la Cerámica will be like on Saturday. Valencia have changed a lot with the arrival of Gattuso, but we know their strengths and weaknesses. It’s important to win because they are a direct rival in the fight for the European places”.
