Villarreal B lose in Elda and remain in the relegation places
The Mini Submarine lost 2-0 on their visit to the Nuevo Pepico Amat. Eldense were slightly the better side and took the game with goals from Chapela, from the penalty spot, and Dumic. With this defeat, Miguel Álvarez’s side are unable to climb out of the relegation places.
The first half was a scrappy affair with no clear-cut chances for either side. Villarreal’s first approach was a pass to Diego Collado, who found himself alone in front of the goalkeeper, but he was slightly offside. After half an hour, Eldense took the lead through Iván Chapela’s penalty following a handball by Lekovic.
Due to two injuries to the home side and the goal, eleven minutes were added on before the break. In the first of these, Álex Forés had a chance to equalise, but Aceves deflected the Valencian striker’s cross-shot well wide.
Just after the start of the second half, Jorge Pascual had an unsuccessful header attempt. In an isolated corner, Dumic scored the second after a couple of good saves from Iker Álvarez in the previous shots. Eldense therefore put the game to bed.
Villarreal B’s next game will take place on Sunday 10th March at 4:15pm CET at the Estadio de la Cerámica against Elche CF.
