How Villarreal got on at LALIGA FC FUTURES
The Yellow U12s (Alevín A), despite losing in the quarter-finals of the competition, played a high level of football that, at times, allowed them to dream of returning to triumph in a tournament that the Submarine have won on three occasions.
In the group stage, an excellent Villarreal team opened with a draw against Rayo Vallecano (1-1), but won their next matches against RC Celta (4-0), Real Sociedad (0-3) and Athletic Club (0-2), to book their place in the quarter-finals as Group A leaders.
In the quarter-finals Valencia awaited. After a match marked by intense duels and good football from two teams looking to reach the last four and reach Sunday’s finals, the derby ended in a goalless draw at the end of normal time. The passage to the semi-finals would be decided on penalties, where Villarreal were unlucky and fell defeated in the shoot-out.
