The defender for the U19s, who recently signed a new contract, has played for three academy sides this season

Pau Navarro, the only player from the Villarreal youth academy who three times a groguet. The defender from La Vilavella, who is registered with the U19s (Juvenil A), has played official minutes for three teams this season. The club has wanted to retain this provincial football pearl, who renewed his contract last Tuesday until 2027.

The centre-back, one of the province’s stalwarts in the Yellows Academy, is currently playing for Villarreal C, with whom he has made a total of 11 appearances, but he also made his debut for the Mini Submarine in LALIGA Hypermotion against CD Tenerife in a match in which he had to show his grit to help defend the 0-1 scoreline at the Heliodoro Rodríguez López.

Just over a week ago, Pau joined the ranks of U19s (Juvenil A) to helo Mario Bárcena’s squad for the Youth opa del Rey. His performance at the Municipal d’Horta left no one unmoved, as he scored the winning goal (0-1) in the 117th minute of extra time against a prestigious Catalan side such as Damm. In addition to his defensive and ball control potential, his presence was crucial to certify the passage to the round of 16 with this goal and prepare to host Mallorca at home.

The case of Pau Navarro is a very particular one. For some, it might remind them of the case of Jorge Pascual last season, but the ‘Lion’ went straight from Villarreal C to the first team without playing a single minute with the B team, which he has joined with great performances this year in the second division.

Representation of three towns from the province of Castellón

As well as representing three Yellows Academy teams, Pau Navarro represents three towns in the province. Pau, a native of La Vilavella, spends his summers on the beach in Nules and grew up in Segorbe, where he went to school, as his father was a teacher there. Thus, the promising youngster has friends in all three towns and is proud to be part of each of them.
