The tribute to Francesc Tàrrega will be held on Friday 1st December at the Sports Technification Centre in Vila-real

Villarreal CF presented this afternoon in the press room of the José Manuel Llaneza Training Ground the tribute concert to Francesc Tàrrega, ‘Orgull de la nostra Vila’, which will be held on Friday 1st December, from 8.30pm CET, at the Sports Training Ground in Vila-real.

Fernando Roig, president of Villarreal CF, José Benlloch, mayor of Vila-real, as well as Rosanna and Gisela Morales, artistic directors of the show, have presided over the presentation of an activity framed within the Centenari Groguet programme and through which the club shows its support and involvement in local culture while recognising and giving visibility to Francesc Tàrrega, one of the most prestigious ambassadors of the city.

The concert will be conducted by the Valencian musician, teacher and conductor-concertmaster Miguel Ángel Navarro and will feature a total of 60 musicians on stage. Among them will be one of the best violinists in the world, Vasko Vassilev, and one of the great names of the Spanish guitar, Anabel Montesinos.

The lyrics of the pieces to be performed by the Orchestra xxx together with the London-based musical group The Covent Garden Soloists and the musicians of the Cultural Association ‘Veus de Cambra’ from Vila-real in the concert in homage to Francesc Tàrrega, will be composed by writers from the city of Vila-real.

Finally, it should be noted that attendees will also be able to enjoy a special performance by Paula Bonet, a renowned visual artist from Vila-real whose work focuses on oil painting, engraving and writing.
