Exponential growth
Vera Rico joined Yellows Academy in the 2016/17 season. Since then, the forward from Benicàssim has shown an innate talent on the ball, allowing her to play up to three times with the women’s first team in the 2019/20 season, which at the time was fighting in the second division.
With Villarreal Women’s promotion to the national top flight, Rico was given the opportunity to make her first-team debut. From that moment until now, the attacker has been able to play 21 times in the top flight, scoring a goal, and she has also played four times in the Copa de la Reina.
Villarreal would like to thank her for her commitment to the club during the years she has worn the yellow jersey, as well as wishing her good luck and success in her new professional career.
