Villarreal CF head coach Marcelino García spoke to the media in the Stade Vélodrome press room after the defeat to Olympique Marseille in the first leg of the UEFA Europa League last 16.
He expressed his disappointment at the defeat to Olympique de Marseille, whom he considered to be the deserved winners of the game. “We have broken with the good dynamic of play and competitiveness that we had been showing. We were well below that level. We were playing against a good team, who showed great efficiency and we have to congratulate them because they were better and we played better. We were not at our best and I am responsible for that. I didn’t make the right decisions and I take the blame for this result.”
