The Villarreal Women’s head coach has analysed the Groguetes’ next opponent, AEM (Saturday, 4.00pm)
Villarreal Femenino head coach Jordi Ferriols spoke to V Play to analyse the build-up to the Groguetes’ next league fixture against AEM, corresponding to Matchday 16 of the 2025/26 Primera Federación season, which will be played this Saturday at 4pm on Pitch 5 at the José Manuel Llaneza Training Ground.
Jordi Ferriols began his press conference by positively assessing the team’s strong start to 2026: “We’ve picked up two wins, which is always difficult in this league, against two tough opponents. We’re very happy. In addition, we’re in a good run of form and we need to keep it going. The team is clear about what we’re doing and we’re clear about the objective, and we’re going for it.”
The coach from Vila-real also stressed the importance of being strong at home: “One of our objectives is to make ourselves strong at home. As I said, we’ve recorded two consecutive wins and we’re hoping to get this third one. A very tough opponent like AEM is coming, who are also in a good run of form. It will surely be a tough and exciting match to watch, and we hope to be close to securing the win.”
Regarding the opposition, Ferriols analysed what kind of AEM he is expecting: “You can really see the coach’s influence at AEM. They are a very vertical, very united team who work extremely hard with and without the ball. They also transition very well and have very clear ideas. They have players with a lot of talent. In addition, in recent matches they have been scoring from set pieces, which was already one of AEM’s strengths last season. As for us, we have to be ready to stick to our principles with the ball and do a huge amount of work without it, especially in duels and second balls.”
