The sports facility is one of seven rebuilt thanks to Villarreal’s donation to the Fundación Trinidad Alfonso’s ‘Alcem-se Esport’ programme
Villarreal CF will be present on Wednesday, 22nd October, at 6pm CEST for the reopening of Alfafar Municipal Football Ground. The facility was rebuilt after being devastated by the flooding in Valencia thanks to the club’s €2.3 million donation to the ‘Alcem-se Esport’ programme, a support plan for sports clubs affected by the DANA launched by Juan Roig and managed through the Fundación Trinidad Alfonso and Valencia Basket.
Seventh pitch restored with Villarreal CF’s support
Alfafar Municipal Football Ground is the seventh football pitch restored with Villarreal CF’s financial contribution. The grounds at La Torre, Beniparrell, Catarroja, Encrucijadas de Aldaia, Joan Girbés in Algemesí, and Vicente Moreno Stadium in Massanassa have already returned to normal activity thanks to the Fundación Trinidad Alfonso’s efficient work.
‘Alcem-se Esport’
After the flooding, more than 350 sports clubs across all disciplines needed support to resume activity. The plan, presented by the Fundación Trinidad Alfonso and Valencia Basket, amounted to €4 million, and Villarreal CF decided to contribute €2 million to help make it possible.
