The Mini Submarine lost 2-0 to Real Racing in a game of few chances

Villarreal B were unable to get a point on their visit to Santander after two consecutive games in a row. Miguel Álvarez’s side lost 2-0 to Real Racing in a game with few chances for either side. Goals from Lago Junior in the first half and Peque from the penalty spot after the restart decided the match.

Both teams started the match with a lot of energy and a desire to create chances. Arana had the first chance for Racing, but Iker Álvarez showed great skill to block the ball. For the Yellows, Forés and Collado were lively on the wings, but the home side retreated quickly and the attacks became static.

The game was very evenly matched, but in the second chance for Racing, Lago Junior beat Iker after receiving a pass from the left. With this scoreline, the half-time whistle blew, despite Miguel Álvarez’s men trying hard, but with no clear chances.

After the break, the head coach made a triple change introducing Requena, Rodri Alonso and Tiago. However, Raving extended their lead from the spot after a penalty for handball was awarded and converted by Peque.

The Mini Submarine’s next match will take place on Monday 4th December at the Estadio de la Cerámica against SD Eibar.
