More than 2,000 runners of 40 nationalities enjoyed the spectacular course offered in the MiM and CSP races
The ASICS Penyagolosa Trails race celebrated another spectacular edition on Saturday 12th April, which, as usual, was attended by more than 2,000 participants of up to 40 nationalities.
The emblematic Marató i Mitja (MiM), which was celebrating its 26th edition, started at 6am. After covering 60 kilometres and 3,300 metres of positive elevation gain, José Ángel Fernández ‘Canales’ (05:14:04) and Inés Astrain (06:07:46) won the race. For his part, Canales, from Jaén, was proclaimed champion of the MiM for the third time and kept his own record. And in the women’s race, the runner from Pamplona beat the record held by Laia Cañes (06:07:46).
The CSP, which was celebrating its 13th edition, had a distance of 106 kilometres and an accumulated positive difference in altitude of 5,600 metres. The winners in this race were Iván Calvo (11:01:34) from Tarragona and Elisabeth Ríos (14:03:38) from Bolivia.
This prestigious event forms part of the competitions of the Endavant Esports programme, a vertical part of the club’s CSR and sustainability project, through which it promotes and encourages elite sport in the province of Castellón.
