Villarreal CF head coach Quique Setién is expecting an intense duel in Pamplona

Villarreal CF head coach Quique Setién said this afternoon that he sees the team mentally prepared to face Osasuna in Pamplona this Sunday (4.15pm CET). “It’s clear that the Conference League exit was a blow, but we’re all making the same analysis. We have to improve our finishing, although it won’t be easy. The team is doing well and we have to keep working to create chances. We have to be confident in what we do and keep trying,” he commented.

For Setién, it won’t be easy to beat a great rival: “I expect a game with alternatives. Osasuna are a good team and I like what they propose. They have achieved a high level of efficiency in what they do. We will have to try to be ourselves and keep creating chances as we have done so far. Osasuna’s play has a lot of merit and they have been improving little by little. They have players with talent, speed and they know what they have to do when they have the ball. They are a team with a lot of options.”

Regarding Gerard’s call-up to the senior Spanish national team and Baena and Yeremy to the U21s, Quique Setién was proud: “It’s a satisfaction that the players are going to the national team, the more they go it’s certainly good for them and good for the club. Before I arrived there were also players in the national team.”
