The Mini Submarine head coach analyses the upcoming match against UD Ibiza (Saturday, 4:15pm)
Villarreal B head coach David Albelda spoke to V Play to analyse the Mini Submarine’s upcoming match against UD Ibiza, corresponding to Matchday 34 of Primera Federación, which will be played this Saturday at 4:15pm at the Mini Estadi at the José Manuel Llaneza Training Ground.
The Valencian coach highlighted the team’s strong form both in terms of results and performances: “The team are arriving in a very good moment for this match and for the final stretch of the season. We are on a good run and feeling good, although every match is a different story. In this division, all matches are very difficult and, despite the run we are on, the wins tend to be very tight.”
Albelda also valued the group’s progression over the course of the season, noting that the team are currently the second-best side in terms of form in Group two of Primera Federación: “We are very pleased with the team’s progress, both collectively and individually. That said, we still have six matches left and our mentality is to keep going and push everyone to the maximum until the end.”
Regarding the opposition, the Yellow head coach warned about the quality of the Balearic side, managed by a very familiar figure at the club, Miguel Álvarez: “I expect a very tough match. Ibiza have a great squad and Miguel Álvarez is there, someone who knows the division perfectly and has a lot of experience. They are a team that in some matches have been unlucky and deserved more. That has prevented them from pushing higher up the table, but in terms of individual and collective quality they are one of the best teams in the division. We are expecting maximum difficulty.”
Finally, Albelda stressed the importance of maintaining the team’s identity to have a chance of picking up all three points: “We have to stick to our system, our ideas and our mentality. If we are able to impose our strengths, we will be closer to winning, despite the difficulty of the match.”
