The president of Villarreal CF has stressed that he is proud to contribute to the promotion of the province of Castellón
Fernando Roig, Villarreal CF president, took the floor to put the finishing flourish on the Endavant Gala, which featured awards, performances and moving speeches.
He thanked everyone for the commendable work they do to promote the province of Castellón: “Endavant is all of us who make up the Villarreal family and who want our province to grow year after year. I would like to thank all of you who are part of it and who contribute to making this land a better place.”
Similarly, Fernando Roig proudly highlighted the club’s efforts to promote its environment in different areas: “We want to contribute to promoting the different sectors in the province of Castellón, giving back to society and the province the support it gives us. This programme is a reflection of what football is capable of doing. We can help many people. Between all of us, we want to make a great club, which fights for its sporting objectives, but also to be aware of and help all those around it.”
“We have done it with the flooding in Valencia. That is what we have been taught, that we must contribute to those who need it most. Trinidad Alfonso did it, my mother, whose name is now given to the foundation, which is promoting aid for those affected by the flooding in Valencia. From Villarreal, we are supporting the reconstruction of the football pitches. We feel we have an obligation to do so,” acknowledged the Villarreal president during his speech.
In addition, he explained the essence of the Endavant programme: “Endavant is the club’s battle cry and represents the spirit of Villarreal. They are the values that make us great on and off the pitch. This project, which began more than two decades ago, reaches a total of 30,000 people in the province, from a wide range of sectors such as education, tourism, sport, education and sustainability.”
Finally, Fernando Roig pointed out that he takes responsibility for the club’s work as an ambassador for the province of Castellón throughout Spain and Europe: “We seek to promote our land, its tourism and its industry. The Estadio de la Cerámica project is an example of this. We want them to get to know our traditions and turn our pitch into another attraction to come and enjoy Castellón.”
