Villarreal will be looking for a win against Cadiz to stay in contention for fourth place
Villarreal CF face Cádiz at the Estadio de la Cerámica this Wednesday, starting at 7.30pm CEST. The match, which will be the penultimate home game for the Yellows this season, pits two sides in the battle for the UEFA Champions League and survival respectively.
The team coached by Sergio González arrives in Vila-real in high spirits after a vital 2-0 win at home to Real Valladolid, direct rivals in the fight for survival, thanks to a double from Theo Bongonda. The visitors, who will be without Choco Lozano due to suspension, are in sixteenth place with 38 points, three above the relegation zone, which the club from Valladolid are currently occupying.
The Yellows are also on a roll ahead of Wednesday’s clash. Setién’s side secured a 2-1 win over Girona with Gerard Moreno’s goal in the 94th minute. The victory helped the Submarine to confirm their presence in Europe for another season – it will be their 19th appearance in continental competition after 23 years in LaLiga – and to continue to put pressure on Real Sociedad in the fight for fourth place, with the Yellows five points behind them.
