The Yellows reserves lose against a rival in direct competition for promotion position
Villarreal B could not achieve any points in their visit to Lleida Esportiu. The Catalan side took the victory thanks to goals from Marc and Xemi, with a brace. The Yellows reserves also had their chances on goal, but failed to score.
The first goal came in the 26th minute from the penalty spot. Marc scored from the penalty spot much to the Yellows’ frustration, as they were in a good place on the pitch. The goal to make it 2-0 was a setback just before half-time. Xemi let off a shot like a rocket which Fuoli couldn’t do anything about.
In the second half, Villarreal B tried everything they could but were unsuccessful. In fact, what came was a third goal for Lleida Esportiu, again by Xemi who finished off a cross from Liberto (m. 49).
