17,901 voices helped Villarreal confirm their place in the top flight next season
A first-class set of fans. Villarreal want to publicly thank their fans for the support received during the ‘cup final’ against SD Eibar at the Estadio de la Cerámica and throughout a tough season, where the Yellow Submarine confirmed LaLiga survival in the penultimate match.
The fans played a fundamental role in the match against the Basque side, even before a ball was kicked. Thousands of supporters welcomed the team bus in a wave of bodies that reached the Estadio de la Cerámica. The first 1,000 fans even got an official scarf as a gift.
Yellows could enjoy the preview of the game with a band, music, an inflatable Submarine and above all, a real wish to cheer on the side.
Once inside, 17,000 yellow flags brought colour to the stands, where 17,901 people got behind Javi Calleja’s side. And they got even louder with Karl Toko Ekambi’s goal, which is now written in Villarreal history.
