The winger emphasised the importance of starting LALIGA with a win
Yeremy Pino spoke this Wednesday to the media in the press room at the José Manuel Llaneza Training Ground, where he analysed Villarreal CF’s current situation, the objectives for this season and his feelings at the start of the campaign.
The winger began by highlighting the team’s good start to the league after the victory in the opening match against Real Oviedo: “It gives us confidence for the games before the international break and to keep picking up three points.”
With regard to his position, Yeremy expressed his willingness to play wherever needed: “I adapt to whatever the coach asks of me.” However, he is motivated by the challenge this season presents: “Now I have the chance to show my best version and shine on the left.”
He also stressed that his best performances last season came when playing from the left: “In the last seven games of last year I played there and had good numbers.” Even so, he was cautious when setting himself personal targets: “The numbers are important to me, but I prefer to focus on working hard every day. That way, goals and assists will come.”
Yeremy also expressed his desire to play in the Champions League again: “It’s a great experience and we have to enjoy it.” Finally, the Spain international admitted that the team hopes to fight for fourth place again and have a good continental campaign: “Those are the two objectives I’ve set myself. On an individual level, I prefer to focus on working hard every day so that goals and assists will come, without setting myself a specific figure.”
