

Villarreal CF was present at the campaign to combat racism and discrimination in football
Ex-player and current member of the Villarreal CF Institutional Relations Department, Marcos Senna, participated in the launch of the campaign ‘Sin Respeto No Hay Juego’ (‘Without Respect, There Is No Game’), promoted by ‘Prisa Radio/Cadena SER’ and aims to raise awareness about the need to fight against discrimination and racism in football. Based on the UNESCO report ‘Colour?, What Colour?’, the campaign will take place during the first half of 2017. The presentation event took place at midday today at the Museo del Traje in Madrid.
In this way, the ‘Cadena SER’ channel aims to reinforce and generate debate within society regarding discrimination and racism in football. The event, presented by Dani Garrido, director of ‘Carrusel Deportivo’, was divided into two blocks. In the first block, the following people participated: Juan Luis Cebrián, President of ‘PRISA’; Andrea Agnelli, President of Juventus FC; Florentino Pérez, President of Real Madrid CF; Josep Maria Bartomeu, President of FC Barcelona and Nada Al-Nashif, Assitant Director-General of UNESCO Social and Human Science.
It was in the second block that Marcos Senna participated. At a round table, led by Manu Carreño, Director of ‘El Larguero’, with football institutions and professionals in attendance, such as José Ramón Lete, President of the ‘Consejo Superior de Deportes’, Lola Romero, President of Atlético de Madrid ladies, Luis Rubiales, President of the AFE, Vicente del Bosque and Michael Robinson, in which they talked about discrimination and racism in this sport.
Marcos Senna was steadfast when it was his turn to speak: “We have to keep fighting against all types of discrimination”.
