Miguel Álvarez has praised Antequera’s great season so far, with the next opponents being top of the league
Villarreal B head coach, Miguel Álvarez, appeared before the media this Friday ahead of the match match against Antequera CF, which will be take place on Sunday, at 3:30pm CET, at the Mini Estadi of the José Manuel Llaneza Training Ground.
“We are playing against the leaders. In the first round, I said they were the team to watch. Now it’s all paid off for them. They play attractive, associative football. This will be a different game, but just as complicated. They have created a lot of automatisms. They’re a strong team in transition and they score from set-pieces,” said the coach from Jaen about the Mini Submarine’s next opponents.
In the same vein, Miguel Álvarez recalled that Villarreal B have also grown a lot since the first half of the season: “We’re not the same as we were in the first half of the season. I hope that in the second half we’ll be a difficult team to beat. Now we’re playing at home, where we have to play with courage and show that we’re playing on our home pitch.”
The Villarreal B head coach was full of praise for Antequera CF: ‘They have only lost one game in a very even division. That tells you everything about the team they are. They have a very recognisable starting line-up, which dominates a lot of registers. They have also strengthened very well in the winter with four new signings.”
