Pablo Herrera reclaims his Spanish championship title
The Spanish beach volleyball partnership of Pablo Herrera from Castellón and Adrián Gavira from San Roque were named, for the second consecutive year, champions of Spain in the Reserva del Higuerón tournament in Fuengirola. The Spanish pair came out on top against the Tomás-Menéndez partnership by 21-11 and 21-16.
BM Castellón wins in Almazora (24-12)
BM Castellón were named winners of a friendly tournament in Almazora. The players, under the stewardship of Montse Puche, won first of all 14-32 against Orbel Almassora BM, before then defeating Club Handbol Mislata 24-12.
Convincing victory for Peñíscola RehabMedic (5-1)
Peñíscola RehabMedic were 5-1 winners against Santa Coloma in their sixth pre-season game. The goals for the team from Peñíscola came from Rumbo, Raúl Gómez, Claudino, Juan Emilio and Xavi Cols.
Mixed results for Bisontes Castellón
The men’s first-team for Bisontes Castellón won the Trofeo Ciutat de Castelló by beating Colo-Colo Zaragoza 4-2. The goals for the indoor football team came from David and a Juanito hat-trick. But it wasn’t quite as good news for the women’s first team, who fell to a 0-5 pre-season friendly defeat to Sala Zaragoza.

The tennis star from Castellón, Roberto Bautista, saw his US Open came to an end after he fell to a first-round defeat to Australian Jason Kubler (6-3, 6-3, 6-4).

Vall d’Uixó’s tennis player Sara Sorribes went out of the US Open after losing her debut match there 6-0 6-0 against Australian Daria Gavrilova.
María Palacios, second in Sweden
The Granadan golf player María Palacios finished in second in the Turfman Allerum Open in Sweden, which is part of the LET Access Series. Palacios scored a -7, two shots off the eventual winner.
Manuel Peris, first and Carolina Aicart, second in the Cursa Entremuralles
The athlete from CA Playas de Castellón Manuel Peris finished in first place in the 5km Cursa Entremuralles de Mascarrell with a time of 16.32 minutes. In the women’s category, Carolina Aicart from CA Playas came second, with a time of 20.14 minutes.
Ione Vilar wins the Peníscola open water competition
Club Natació Vila-real swimmer, Ione Vilar, achieved first place in the second edition of the Peñíscola open water competition. Vilar completed the 2,400m in 34.53 minutes.
