Villarreal head coach Unai Emery appeared in front of the media this Friday to analyse the upcoming game against FC Barcelona, which will take place this Saturday, at 9pm CET, at the Estadio de la Cerámica.

“We are excited to be playing games of this level. Difficult games are a challenge and we want to find responses. We’ve just faced Manchester United. Now we’re coming up against FC Barcelona. We’re at our stadium once more, in front of our fans.”

“It’s a great match for the fans, who we want to be with us. We want them to see a great game. We’re trying to put in a good performance with our playing style, that we want to continue strengthening via hard work.”
Being more consistent in LaLiga
“We want to have a clear identity, a style that makes us feel comfortable. We’re in that process. We’re playing in three competitions. In LaLiga, we’re getting fewer points than what we’d like. We’re lacking efficiency and we need more control of certain sporting and mental aspects. We’re working on that. We want to find that consistency in LaLiga.”

“We need to support good feelnigs with results. We’re not winning, but we’re doing a lot of things well. We’re self-demaning and we’re trying to correct aspects that are stopping us from getting wins.”

“We’re hoping to put in a great performance. We want to generate things, to be a team for our fans to be proud of. I think it will be an open game, with chances. We will have moments where we are dominating the game, and they will have their moments too. We need to minimise any errors and make sure that they’re not important. We want to be efficient in front of goal, and improve in both boxes so the match goes in our favour.”
