Miguel Álvarez spoke about the team’s lead up ahead of the match against Albacete Balompié (Sunday, 9pm CET)

Villarreal B coach Miguel Álvarez spoke at the press conference ahead of the match between the Yellows and Albacete Balompié, corresponding to matchday 13 of LaLiga SmartBank, which will take place on Sunday at 9pm CET at the Carlos Belmonte. These are the most important statements from the Jaén coach:

Great win at home against FC Andorra

“It’s not our way of playing, we are a team that goes up, but in football winning is important. This type of match is fundamental for your training. The last three games against Andorra have been nine points out of nine, with four goals scored and none conceded”.

Few teams take risks in the second division

“We have a clear idea. I’ve been here for six seasons and I’ve always tried to tell the lads to be brave and go for the opposition. Now I’m not going to change the approach, although there are basic things that are vital to improve. We are in a process and we have to adapt to the competition”.

A victory that gives us reassurance

“The message to the players is to be a consistent team and start to compete because, from there, you are closer to winning. We are improving, but we have a lot to correct and adapt to the different scenarios that the competition throws at us”.

Albacete, the dark horses

“Along with Burgos, they are the surprise team. They hold a lot of records, the proof is in the standings. They’ve done a brilliant managerial job, they’ve kept last year’s starters and the new signings have raised the level a lot, both in the starting eleven and on the bench”.

Fitness of the team

“Well, some of them with some discomfort, like Mbacke. On the other hand, we have a few more weeks of work with Forés. M. A. Leal and Arana have taken part in training all week. Today Carlo and Del Moral have been with the first team”.
