Xavi Quintillà has underlined the Reserves’ wish to stay at the top of the table
Villarreal B left-back Xavi Quintillà has appeared in front of the press to analyse the upcoming game against CD Castellón at the Mini Estadi: “Each match is completely different, but you have to give your all in every one of them. We know the importance of the match, not only for us but for them as well. They will have that extra bit of motivation, as there will be a number of Castellón fans supporting their team. For us, it is also a special match, although we will prepare for it like we prepare for every game at the Mini Estadi. We hope we’ll play well, that we can take the victory away with us and stay at the top of the table.”
The Catalan defender expressed that he feels that Villarreal B are currently in a great moment of the season, something they want to take into the match this weekend: “As each match has gone by, we’ve grown into a very competitive team. We are first with a good run and what we want to do it stay at the top, win as many matches as possible and take the three points away with us. Our best quality is that we don’t appear to be a reserve side. It’s turning out to be a great year for us.”
Despite that, Quintillà highlighted the difficulty of the next few matches: “Segunda B is a league which is completely different in the second round of fixtures. Each game it’s harder to win. Your opponents get stronger, from those at the bottom of the table to those at the top.”
Furthermore, the player analysed last weekend’s match against CF Hércules: “The team played really well, we dominated the opening 25 minutes, we scored in the first minute and we had chances to get another. The Rico Pérez stadium is one of the toughest in the league. We played well and we know now that they’re a good team. Now we have to leave that behind us and think about Castellón.”
